Mr. Distefano has been involved in the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and Staffing Industries since the late 80's. He started his career working for Staffing Network and Nexus Payroll Services located in Manchester, NH as their Manager of Information Systems.
He then spent time working for PayPlus Software, a division of Zurich Payroll Solutions, as their Manager of Training and Documentation. With this role, Mr. Distefano provided extensive on-site PEO consulting services for both new and established PEO’s, providing analysis of their operational structure with an emphasis placed on their internal controls and infrastructure. He also coordinated training classes with student sizes ranging from 20-200.
From 2000-2005 he was Chief Executive Officer at Florida Ag Services, a temporary staffing company specializing in agricultural labor, as well as National Employer Services, a PEO-both located in Avon Park, FL.
Mr. Distefano joined SUNZ Insurance Company at its inception in 2005 as Chief Information Officer and was instrumental in the design and implementation of all technology currently in place at SUNZ Insurance Company. Due to his extensive background in the PEO and Staffing Industries he help create the systems in place today to insure compliance in the areas of fraud, payroll reporting and audit systems.
In 2008 Mr. Distefano was promoted to his current role of Vice President and Chief Operations Officer along with being voted onto the Board of Directors of SUNZ Insurance Company. In this expanded role he oversees the day to day operations of SUNZ Insurance Company and Alliance Insurance Solution.
Mr. Distefano is active in NAPEO, FAPEO and FSA. Mr. Distefano is also a Licensed General Lines Property and Casualty Insurance Agent
